TMC workers vandalise party MLA’s house in Bengal alleging he took cash for posts

In West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, the residence of TMC MLA Idris Ali has been vandalized by members of his own party who accuse him of accepting bribes in exchange for appointing individuals to positions within the local organization. Ali vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that certain local TMC leaders were attempting to introduce individuals with questionable backgrounds into the party’s block-level organization.

Addressing the situation, Ali stated that his car and the ground floor of his house were ransacked by local TMC leaders. He dismissed the claims of financial transactions related to party appointments as unfounded and politically motivated attempts to tarnish his reputation. The former Lok Sabha MP argued that some local leaders were engaging in such dealings and pushing for the inclusion of individuals with questionable backgrounds at the block level.

To address the escalating tensions, a substantial police contingent was deployed in the Bhagobangola area following the act of vandalism. A local TMC leader, however, accused Ali of sidelining longstanding party members in recent years, asserting that he lacked an understanding of local political dynamics and was imposing arbitrary decisions on everyone. TMC’s district chairman, Abu Taher Khan, stated that he would investigate the complaints and assess the situation.
